I’m as spiritual as the next person, and I do as much youth mentoring as the next person, but that doesn’t make sex feel any less spectacular.
Everyone already knows this, anyway. It’s not difficult to find sexually explicit images these days, especially online. If you don’t believe me, hit “Ctrl-Shift-H” right now and see how much porn you find.
If you are providing religious counsel or attempting to educate young people, “sex feels really good” should be your starting point. You can tell people about diseases, tell them about the emotional entanglements, tell them about the rigors of parenthood, even use guilt, but don’t act like it’s not a supremely enjoyable gift from God. And don’t forget, sex is how we got here.
“Straight talk makes for straight understanding.”
