OK, so it’s not really Christmas–it’s May–almost as far from the Holidays as you can get. If you have the Christmas Spirit now, people would probably think your nuts.
But during the Holidays (when we’re all a little nuts), people always talk about the importance of maintaining that peace-on-earth-goodwill-towards-[wo]men feeling that comes over most of us. So where is Christmas now?
There’s no real reason to believe that Jesus was born in December, anyway. That date was settled upon for many reasons, including the fact that the coldest, darkest time of year is the best place to celebrate the warmth and light that Christ represents.
It’s 80 degrees in New York City today, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t use some good cheer. I plan to do my part, and I hope you do, too. Get someone something. I’m a 44 long, btw….
