How many times does the average New Yorker flush the toilet in a day?
My guess is 2 or 3 at home, 1 or 2 at work, and probably at least one more at a restaurant, airport, department store, or other location at some point. Let’s call it 4 flushes a day x 8 million people. 32 million flushes each and every day. Well over 11 billion flushes a year, and that’s just in the five boroughs of New York City. Never mind the rest of the state, country, and world fortunate enough to enjoy indoor plumbing.
In many parts of the world, there’s a water shortage.
